On a monthly basis, industrial production contracted a non-seasonally adjusted 9.4% over the previous month, contrasting the 15.3% increase registered in March and coming in below market expectations of a less severe decline of 9.1%. Furthermore, the trend deteriorated, with annual average industrial production falling from 10.9% in March to 10.6% in April.
