According to the Central Statistical Office's Business Tendency Survey (GUS-BTS), the industry index for the expected general business climate jumped from 2.1 points in February to 3.7 points in March. This increase pushed the index further above the zero-point threshold, which separates pessimism from optimism. The improvement in the sentiment gauge reflected increasing optimism among businesses regarding domestic and foreign order-books as well as current production levels. On the other hand, businesses were more pessimistic regarding their total volume of liabilities.
