Mexico: Consumer confidence picks up in November

December 6, 2021

Consumer confidence came in at 45.8 in November, up from October's 44.1, marking the highest reading in over two years. November’s rise was driven by improved sentiment regarding consumers’ personal financial situation and the general economic situation. Moreover, consumers grew more willing to make major purchases. Taken together, the October and November consumer confidence figures bode well for private spending in Q4.

Panelists participating in this month’s LatinFocus Consensus Forecast project private consumption to increase 3.1% in 2022, which is down 0.2 percentage points from last month’s forecast, and 2.6% in 2023.
