Kenya: Inflation recedes in November
Inflation inched down to 9.5% in November, following Octobers 9.6%. The cooling of price pressures was primarily due to a softer increase in prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages. In addition, price pressures for housing, utilities and fuel moderated.
Still, the trend pointed up; annual average inflation rose to 7.4% in November (October: 7.1%).
Finally, consumer prices rose a seasonally adjusted 0.35% from the previous month in November, coming in below the 0.89% rise seen in October. November’s result marked the weakest reading since January.
