In February, consumer prices added 0.78% over the previous month, which was above the 0.57% increase observed in January and represented, in fact, the largest rise in five months. Consumer prices in February were affected by higher prices for health as well as for restaurants and hotels, which offset lower communication costs. Owing to the monthly price increase, annual headline inflation stepped up from 5.3% in January to 5.5% in February. According to the 2012 budget, the Ministry of Finance projects inflation to reach 5.1% this year.
