Croatia: Industrial production records solid growth in March

In March, industrial output rose 6.9% over the same month of last year in working-day adjusted terms, which was above February’s 4.4% increase. The advance came on the back of a solid growth in both the manufacturing sector and the electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning sector.

On a monthly basis, industrial production in March increased 5.0% in seasonally-adjusted terms, which contrasted February’s 1.6% fall and marked the highest reading in six months. Annual average growth in industrial production advanced from February’s 3.9% to 4.2% in March, marking the highest reading since February 2008.

FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast panelists expect industrial production to expand 2.9% in 2016, which is up 0.1 percentage points from last month’s estimate. In 2017, the panel sees industrial production growth at 3.1%.
