The Central Bank left the policy rate unchanged at 5.00% at its 17 April policy meeting for a third consecutive month, in a decision widely expected by the market. In its statement, the Bank expressed its concerns over increased volatility in global markets and rising financial tensions in the Eurozone. The Bank noted that economic activity has performed as forecasted in its latest Monetary Policy Report.
