Austria: Industrial production returns to growth in June
August 25, 2016
In June, industrial production increased 0.1% over the previous month in seasonally-adjusted terms. This contrasted the revised 1.0% contraction recorded in May (previously reported: -1.5% month-on-month). June’s result was largely driven by expansions in the electricity and gas sector, as well as in the mining and quarrying sector.
In annual terms, industrial production grew 0.9% in June, down from the revised 1.5% expansion recorded in May (previously reported: +0.8% year-on-year). Annual average growth in industrial production in June was 1.7%, which was slightly higher than May’s 1.5% and the highest result in over three years.
